TTEC

In November 2007, Tioga County Technology Education Center began a transition phase from a training  provider to a training broker. Through TTEC's efforts to establish the training that has been needed in Tioga County, training providers have seen the full extent of the training needs and possibilities that the County offers. As a result, TTEC's services are needed now as a training resource and funding information provider for our businesses, school districts and our community. As a workforce development resource we will also act as a partnership facilitator, helping the businesses and school districts gain access to the resources that exist.

Instead of establishing training programs, we work with businesses to help them identify training resources that currently exist. We also bring together our school districts and businesses in an attempt to provide the schools access to previously untapped resources.
As the administrator of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program, which enables local businesses to donate funds and/or equipment for the benefit of local school district school-to work or career development programs, the workforce development program will work to further enhance the learning opportunities in our community. Through direct contact with businesses we hope to increase EITC funds in order to implement School-to-Work and Career Development Programs.

The Tioga County Technology Education Center has received countywide support from several organizations and individuals.  The Appalachian Regional Commission provided the initial start-up funding for the development of the Community Leadership Program. In 2000, a grant awarded through the Community Revitalization Program provided through Representative Matthew E. Baker was awarded to develop Leadership Tioga County.

Working with the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission, the Tioga County Development Corporation continues to assist in workforce and career development for our community. Thanks to the funding efforts of Congressman John E. Peterson and Senator Joseph B. Scarnati III, TCDC will be able to develop the TTEC process to prepare our workforce for the global competing economy through technology. For more information Email us at tcdc1@ptd.net
